Layar Buatan China Geser Samsung Sebagai Pemasok Layar iPhone?
Beritaterkini.biz – Beritaterkini, Apple kelihatannya tidak akan bergantung lagi pada layar OLED buatan Samsung. Dikarenakan pabrikan layar terbesar asal China, BOE memberikan tawaran yang sangat menarik pada Apple, terhubung dengan produksi layar berkualitas tinggi itu.
BOE memberikan akan membangun dua jalur produksi OLED dengan skala besar untuk dipakai secara eksklusif oleh Apple. Kabar tersebut beredar setelah BOE melakukan kunjungan ke kantor Apple untuk berbagi rencana bisnis, pekan lalu.
Untuk merealisasikan hal tersebut, BOE dikabarkan akan memberikan investasi sebesar 7,04 miliar dollar AS (Rp 94 triliun) untuk membangun fasilitas produksi di provinsi Sichuan, China. Perusahaan tersebut bahkan dikabarkan sudah mulai memesan peralatan untuk membangun fasilitas produksi pada Juni 2018 mendatang.
Menurut kabar yang telah dihimpun dari Apple Insider, Kamis (30/11/2017), fasilitas produksi layar OLED kedua juga akan dibangun di kota Chongqing dalam waktu dekat.
Dengan kedua jalur produksi tersebut, BOE akan menciptakan dua jenis layar OLED, yakni layar OLED fleksibel dan yang bisa dilipat, dengan komposisi berbagai macam untuk masing-masing fasilitas perakitan.
Sebelumnya, Apple bergantung kepada Samsung sebagai pemasok layar OLED, asmpai dengan tahun 2019. Layar OLED Samsung ini juga sudah digunakan di iPhone X. Selain daripada itu, Apple juga dikabarkan ingin menggandeng LG untuk memproduksi layar iPhone yang dapat dilipat pada 2020.
Hingga saat ini masih belum diketahui apakah BOE yang memberikan penawaran lebih dahulu, atau Apple yang meminta BOE untuk memberikan penawaran. Yang jelas, jika ingin menjadi pemasok komponen Apple, BOE harus memenuhi standar produksi dulu.
Apalagi dilihat dari saingan BOE merupakan dua raksasa teknologi yang lebih dulu berkecimpung di ranah elektronik, khususnya smartphone.
